Citizen's Guide to Denver Basin Groundwater
Produced by the Colorado Foundation for Water Education, this basic guide explores the geology and hydrology of Denver Basin groundwater resources. It provides an overview of the state's legal framework, current development of the resource, as well as groundwater sustainability issues with a particular focus on the South Denver Metro Area.
Senate Bill 06-193: Underground Water Storage Study
This large report shows the results of a Colorado Water Conservation Board study evaluating potential underground water storage areas in the South Platte and Arkansas River Basins. The Lost Creek Basin was found to have the highest potential for underground storage of any area in the South Platte based on hydrogeological, environmental and implementation considerations.
Colorado Ground Water Commission Home (Designated Basins)
The Lost Creek Basin is a "Designated Groundwater Basin" according to Colorado statute. This site provides more information about the Colorado Ground Water Commission which regulates the designated basins of eastern Colorado.
